The records you are attempting to access have been restricted by order of the Derry Town Council.
Resolution 94-23, passed September 6, 1994, restricts public access to certain historical
records pending "review and reclassification." Affected archives include:
- Derry News, 1929-1930 (Bradley Gang massacre / Black Spot fire)
- Derry News, 1957-1958 (Child disappearances / Great Flood)
- Derry News, 1984-1985 (Second cycle of disappearances)
- Town Council meeting minutes prior to 1990
- DPW underground mapping records, all years
- Police case files for unsolved disappearances
For research access, submit a written request to the Town Clerk's office with valid
justification. Requests are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
Approved researchers may contact Michael Hanlon at the Derry Public Library.
Note: Mr. Hanlon has filed three formal appeals to overturn Resolution 94-23.
All have been denied without comment.
